The stasis at a drag bar in NYC is disrupted when a drag queen, Sally Balls — who left the bar after getting on RuPaul’s Drag Race — returns for a residency. One night (or is it many) unfolds as an ensemble of drag queens of multiple generations and genders (Ann R. Key, Happy Fister, Lily Evangelion, and Lucy) bitch, fight, get drunk, cry, snort coke, perform, and reflect on the state of queer community, the shifting boundaries of who is allowed into queer spaces, and the intricacies of gender and sexuality. Also Queen Mab is there. Yeah, that Queen Mab.

The mischievous narrator Mr. Ed is a tribute to gay novelist Edmund White.
“An Expansion” by Cayson Miles As the sun expands, two young women meet to experience the end - together.
“Crater” by Scott C. Sickles Josh was the one who got away - until he wakes up in the arms of Archie in a Vegas hotel room. The night before was great; the morning after is complicated.
“Housewarning Party” by Richard Castle Gay dads Artie and Raul visit the new suburban home of their daughter Raven and her husband Josh, hoping to repair their relationship - if they can ignore the house’s unsettling supernatural quirks.

How is this night different from all other nights? In, uh, a bunch of ways. Welcome to the Motek Family Seder, where everything is brisket-as-usual until Peter Pan shows up in Elijah's chair, offering first-born, Perri, the chance of a lifetime. Will this Dickensian fever dream of a Neverland finally give Perri the guts to be herself with the people who love her most and know her least? “Monarchs” is a coming-out, coming-of-age story that proudly reclaims Peter Pan as the queer icon she's always been to those of us who knew to look.
